Last updated: 31 October 2026. Operator: Ward 112 Portal (ward112.co.za), an independent community information site. It is not the City of Johannesburg or a councillor's office.
By ticking "I agree" and sending an ad you accept these terms. If you don't agree, please don't post. We may update these terms. The version shown here when you post is the one that applies.
You must be 18 or older and live, work or trade in or near Ward 112. One person or business per ad. You must have the right to sell or offer what you advertise.
Ward 112 Portal only displays ads. We are not a party to any sale, service or agreement between users. We don't check, endorse or guarantee goods, services, prices, qualifications or the people posting. Placing an ad is free, and we don't take payments or handle money for users.
Your ad must be honest, accurate and lawful. Business advertisers must follow the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008, including its rules against false, misleading or deceptive descriptions (section 41) and on displaying prices (section 23), as well as any other law that applies to them. Private sellers must describe items truthfully, including any defects.
You may not post: weapons, firearms or ammunition; drugs, medicines or scheduled substances; alcohol or tobacco sales; adult, sexual or escort content; stolen, counterfeit or copied goods; loans, debt or "blacklisted" offers; MLM, pyramid schemes, stokvel recruitment, crypto or forex schemes; miracle or medical claims; jobs that ask applicants for a fee; live animals for sale (rehoming through a registered welfare organisation is allowed); political or election ads; hate speech, harassment, incitement, or content that is discriminatory or defamatory; anything that infringes someone else's copyright or trademark; other people's personal information without their consent; and anything else that is illegal.
Ads must not contain or link to content that is prohibited or age-restricted under the Films and Publications Act 65 of 1996 (as amended), including child sexual abuse material, propaganda for war, incitement of imminent violence, advocacy of hatred, or non-consensual sexual images. We will remove such content and may report it to the Film and Publication Board and the South African Police Service.
Every ad is checked before it goes live. We may edit for length or formatting, refuse, shorten, delay or remove any ad at any time without giving a reason, and block repeat offenders. We don't guarantee that an ad will be published, its position, or that the site will be available. Ads expire automatically after the period shown on the form.
7-day display period. Once approved, your ad stays up for the full 7-day display period. We don't remove or change ads early on request, except where the law requires it (for example, if you withdraw consent under POPIA) or where the ad breaks these terms.
We process your name, contact number, optional email and ad content to publish and moderate your ad, under the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013. By ticking the consent box, you agree that your name and number will be shown publicly with your ad. Your email is never shown. We keep ad records (your details and the content of your ad) for up to 12 months after the ad is placed, for record-keeping and to deal with complaints or legal queries, and then delete them. We don't sell your information. You may ask to see, correct or delete your information, or withdraw consent (your ad will then be removed), by emailing us. You may also complain to the Information Regulator (inforegulator.org.za). See also our Privacy Policy.
To the extent the law allows, Ward 112 Portal and its volunteers are not liable for any loss, damage, injury or dispute arising from an ad, a transaction or contact between users, or from the site being unavailable. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Consumer Protection Act.
Ward 112 Portal hosts user content. If you believe an ad is unlawful or infringes your rights, send a take-down notice to the email below, following section 77 of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002. Include: your full name and address; your signature (a written or electronic signature); the right you say is being infringed; the material or activity concerned and where it appears (a link); what you want done; your contact details; a statement that you are acting in good faith; and a statement that the information is true and correct. Under section 77(2), anyone who submits a notice with false information that they know is false may be liable for damages. We will act promptly on valid notices.
Your tick and your submitted form count as your agreement and are recorded electronically, as provided for in the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act. As the site operator, we publish our name, contact email and site address here (compare section 43).
These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of South Africa.
